During debarking, sand and various inclusions that fall into the bark during harvesting and transportation of raw materials are removed along with the bark. Therefore, when sawing corked logs, the stability of saws increases, and in this connection, tool costs and sawing power are reduced. Sawing is cleaner, which improves the quality of lumber. As a result of reducing the slippage of logs on the feed rollers, the productivity of sawmill frames increases. The machine is used during the preparation of logs for sawing, during the production of fuel pellets and briquettes.

The machine has an adjustment for the departure of the knives (the depth of the cut or the thickness of the chips that can be removed), it is smoothly adjusted depending on the wood. The adjustment of the speed of forward movement of the log in relation to the knife disc also has a smooth adjustment, which depends on the depth of cut, the cleanliness of the surface of the log and the running speed of processing. The machine is equipped with adjustable retractable supports for the log on the input and output sides, a removable table (log support during loading), a pedal for lifting the log clamping mechanism. Sawdust is thrown out by a built-in fan 4 m from the machine.

With the help of the main technological parameters: the cutting depth and the speed of movement of the log relative to the cutter, the quality of log processing is regulated depending on the requirements.
